DoCrafts Creativity Club Cards...

Hello my lovelies,

I have made two cards this afternoon using the sketches and downloads that are available free if you are a Creativity Club Member.

The Creativity Club is a fantastic club where you can learn lots of new techniques from the Creativity TV, tips from designers including myself and lots of free downloads and a crafty place to chat on the forum too.

I have used two sketches that are available daily, exclusively to members and also the Retro prints and Kitchen Paper Pack for my cards.

Card 1...

I used the Retro Prints 1 & 2 from the Creativity Club Downloads and used one of the sketches as a guide for this card. I made a large circle for a base and then cut out the smaller circles from the decorative paper. Inked the edges with distress inks and then placed them as shown to create a flower. I cut out three hearts and glued them side by side. The sentiment was a free stamp set from the DoCrafts Creativity Magazine. To finish I used liquid pearls and a large pearl in the centre of the flower.

Card 2...

For this card I made my card blank into an easel card. I used the Kitchen Paper Pack 2 & 3 from the DoCrafts Creativity Club downloads.
I also used a sketch which is a free daily download from the club for this card. I trimmed the decorative paper to size to fit the easel base and front. I cut out the doilies and cut two in half as shown, I used a full circle and folded it into quarter's. I tore the recipe from the decorative paper and then inked all edges with distress ink. I glued each element as shown and finished with lace, pearls and a greeting from the same stamp set as before.

I wanted to show you how you can make two very quick cards, and so different too with such few materials!

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today and don't forget to click on the link above to see where you can join in the fun at the DoCraft's Creativity Club!

Have fun and happy crafting,
lots of love

Polkadoodles Design Team Card .....

Hello lovelies,

Hope you are all well, wow time is flying by!

We have another fantastic theme this week for you over at the

The theme this week is

'Stitching Faux or Real'

I enjoyed making my card for this theme. I have used the Polkadoodles Pretty Sweet CD for this card. Now, I decided to dust off my sewing machine and use it for this theme. I have had my machine a long time but decided I wasnt very good at sewing, so using it for my card is new to me! Anyway I loved using it so much I think sewing on my cards will become a favourite thing of mine to do...and yes....no accidents happened either while in charge of the needle!

Here is my card...

I have coloured my image with Promarkers using the following colours...

Hair: Putty, Cinnamon, Saffron, Caramel
Skin: Dusky Pink, Almond, Pastel Pink
Clothes & Shoes: Burnt Orange, Tan, Apricot, Honeycomb, Oatmeal, Warm Grey 2, Ice Grey 1
Swing: Saffron, Caramel, Cinnamon

I tore around the edges of my chosen backing papers. I then did a running stitch with my sewing machine on the patchwork paper and a zigzag stitch on the rose paper. I then inked them both with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. I wanted to apply more ink to the rose paper so I used my brayer. I then spritzed it with gold pigment powder, scrunched it up and then dried with my heat gun. I then added these to my card base which I had already inked the edges of.

Once I had coloured the image, I tore around it and inked the edges and added this to the card. I attached a length of lace to the right hand side, slotting it underneath the paper. I added faux stitching using a brown pen around the rest of the edges. Finally I embellished with Polkadoodles Bloomers and Leaves and some bling and a greeting.

I loved making this card, and really enjoyed sewing the papers.

I would love to see your creations for this challenge so hop over and take a look at the rest of the design team cards for more inspiration.

Have fun and happy crafting,
lots of love

Commission Baby Card...

Hello lovelies,

I wanted to share with  you a card I was commissioned to make.

I was asked to make a Baby Girl card with pink on and also the baby name written on it too.

I chose to make a twisted easel card, I think these always look that bit extra special and also gives you a bigger work area to allow for more detail!

I have used the POLKADOODLES SUNDAE OF SEASONS CD  for the clothes on the line and the backing papers are from the Boofle Collection of papers.

The buttons and teddy I had in my crafty stash already.

I love these colours and think it is very nice and girly!

Thanks for looking.

Today's Post at Studio 12....

Hello lovelies,

Today is my turn to post over at

I wanted to show you a simple project, but a very useful one too!

I have made an embellishment caddy using cotton bud holder tubs.

I want to show you how I made it using the Studio 12 Picknix Collection

Here's how I did it.....

Start with two empty cotton bud tubs and one lid...

Cover them with your chosen papers from the cd...

Add pearl trim and glue the three pots together. Leave to dry...

Print bows out to size, cut out and glue these onto the rims of the pots along with some flowers, alternating them as shown...

Finally, fill the pots with your chosen embellishments...

These pots are great to save as you can make pen pots from them too. So remember next time you have an empty cotton bud pot..don't throw it away!

My embellishment caddy is now sat on my desk looking very pink and pretty!

Hope you like my project for Studio 12, don't forget we have daily projects for you.

Have fun and happy crafting,
lots of love

Polkadoodles Design Team card.....

Hello lovelies,

Well it's Friday which means only one thing, another fab challenge over at the

The theme is

'Celebration'

So we would like to see your celebration cards....this could be anything you wish to celebrate.

For my celebration card, I chose to celebrate the Olympics.
As we have done so well with all those wonderful and inspirational athletes gaining their medals I wanted to say
'Well Done Team GB'.

I have used the Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons CD for my card. I have threaded ribbon through the lanterns and attached to the card. I have used London themed embellishments and finished off with a gold, silver and bronze candy to represent the Olympic Medals.

I think the Olympics have been fantastic, I have really enjoyed watching them!

Hello lovelies and just a bit of chatter from me....

Hello lovelies,

I hope you have all had a lovely week-end. I just wanted to have a little chatter with you all, I know I have'nt posted any crafty makes for a few days so I thought I would have a chat! LOL Are you running for the hills yet?

So, tomorrow I have the day off from my salon. I have written in my crafty project book my to do list of different makes so tomorrow is going to be one busy day lol, but  I would'nt have it any other way!

I have some design team work to complete, believe me you want to keep an eye out as we have some really really exciting things coming your way. Also, I have just downloaded the colour charts for promarkers and flexmarkers, I have coloured in the boxes of which ones I have already. I have now got them on my wall above my desk, I think this will be really handy to refer to as a guide for when I'm colouring away. I want to experiment so I will be busy stamping and printing digis too!

I have so many ideas in this head of mine, just not enough time lol...but I do intend on ploughing through them one by one. An exciting project I will be doing is going to be an Art Journal. I can't wait to get this started. I have so many things to put into it, so many ideas, I can't wait to get inky, messy and doodly!

I also want to make a smash book too, I am a little bit of a hoarder. I keep things like receipts, tickets, pictures, ideas of just about anything. I keep so many different things from loved ones that are a bit random so I just think  a smash book would be the perfect thing to make.

In between all my ideas, I will be working at the salon and then visiting my relatives in Stratford UpOn Avon and also squeezing a week-end away in London for my birthday...I am going to see the show 'Rock Of Ages' so I am really excited about this. Yes, I will be the one singing loudly in the crowd and dancing in the aisle!

I can't believe this time last year I was planning what to do for my 40th birthday, I keep telling everyone at work that this year I am 39 hehehehe!

On this note of age, how quickly time flies by...that is why it is so important to love what you do, love the people you do, and hold them close and dear, cherish what life brings your way...if its not good at the moment....focus on that light at the end of the tunnel!

Anyhoo, wow have I rambled tonight...you will  all be praying that I post a project next time so you don't have to read my ramblings!

Have a great week everyone and I will be back shortly with my crafty makes from tomorrow!

Lots of crafty love and hugs,
NJ XXXXX
