Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog...My DT Post...

Hello lovelies...well I am so happy to announce that I am now on the design team for the fabulous

JOANNA SHEEN CHALLENGE BLOG

I was really happy to accept the offer as  I am a fan of Joanna Sheen and enjoy using the House Mouse designs and much more.

The theme for this challenge is...

BOYS WILL BE BOYS

So we would love to see your male creation's.

For my project I have used a digi stamp from the

HOUSE-MOUSE TRIPLE CD COLLECTION

I love the image I have used as it's fun and perfect for a man, I also had some mini playing cards in my crafty stash so I knew these would be perfect to go with this image...

I have coloured the image using Letraset Promarkers in shades...

Putty ~ Almond ~ Pale Pink ~ Ice Grey 1 ~ Warm Grey 2 ~ Warm Grey 3 ~ Pastel Beige ~ Vanilla ~ Blush ~ Satin ~ Saffron ~ Ivory ~ Tan ~ Oatmeal ~ Sandstone ~ Caramel ~ Burnt Sienna ~ Umber ~ Honeycomb ~ Ginger ~ Apricot ~ Terracotta ~ Poppy ~ Olive Green ~ Marsh Green

I have used an 8" by 8" card blank and decorative papers that I have matted and layered. I thought raffia fitted the image perfectly.

This is just perfect for any man, it shows a fun get together.

To buy the Joanna Sheen House-Mouse Triple CD just click

You will love it, so many different images to choose from, lots of gorgeous colours too.

Here is one of my samples I have made for the show on Sunday...

I have used the

VISIBLE IMAGE INK SPLATS SET

and the other materials I have used are...

~ White 8"x8" scalloped card blank
~ Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Fired Brick ~ Scattered Straw ~ Shabby Shutters ~ Spiced Marmalade
~ Blending sponge
~ Double sided tape and a pencil
~ Self adhesive gems

How I made this...

~ Use the various inks and the sponge to ink around the edges of the card blank.
~ Stamp the small ink splats in the Spiced Marmalade along the top of the card blank.
~ Stamp the next size up ink splats in co-ordinating inks around the other three edges as shown.
~ Lay your roll of double sided tape in the centre of the card. Use your pencil to draw a circle around the outer edge of the tape roll. This is your guide for stamping the longer ink splat in a circle.
~ Use the same coloured ink to stamp the circle of splats, very lightly rub out the pencil lines.
~ Stamp two of the larger ink splats in the centre, then a smaller one just below.
~ Finally use the self adhesive gems to create a border around the ink splat circle.

Such a very quick and easy card to make.

A Birthday Card for My Mum's Special Birthday...

Hello lovelies.

I have had a lovely afternoon with my Mum. Today was her 70th Birthday so she came round for lunch.

We had a lovely time together and certainly a good laugh too. I wanted to show you her special card that I made. I have made an easel card.

I have used a selection of papers from one of my kits that I have. I have die-cut some flowers using Sizzix Florals Decorative Strip Dies. I cut a heart and butterfly from the Sizzix Basic Shapes and another butterfly from the Sizzix Butterfly Delicate die. I have been playing with my new Big Shot, I love it.

I have added 70 gems to the card too!

My mum loved her card and she had a lovely birthday.

I am entering this into the following challenges...

Thank you for stopping by today. I really appreciate your visits and your lovely comments, thank you.

Till next time,
have fun and happy crafting!

07-01-2013

The other materials you need to make this are...

~ White Card

~ 8"x8" square white card blank
~ Ruler
~ Scrap paper
~ Self adhesive gem stones

How to make...

~ Using the border stamp from the JULY CRAFT STAMPER MAGAZINE stamp all the way around the edges of the card blank using the black ink to create a border. Ink the edges with the warm red chalk ink.
~ Stamp EDWARD in the centre of your white card. Colour with the Promarkers. Stamp again onto white scrap paper, fussy cut out and this is your mask. Lay the mask over the coloured image.
~ Stamp the flourish from the IMMORTAL LOVE SET with the black ink as shown to create the background. Stamp the forever just underneath Edwards feet and use the freebie stamp again to stamp a border all the way round. Lay your ruler at each edge and carefully tear the card towards you to make a distressed border. Ink the edges with the warm red ink. With the mask still in place spray the Silver Sparkle over the stamped card.
