My Design Team Card for Glitter Geeks ...To The One I Love..

Another Friday and another Glitter Geeks Challenge.

This weeks challenge is

To The One I Love

Ingredients used to make this card...

K&Company 12x12 Teal and Gold Dots and Swirls Glitter Paper/K&Company 12x12 Teal and Floral and Letter Paper/Tim Holtz Clear Stamp - Urban Grunge/Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa/Letraset Promarker pen in Henna/Kanban greetings/Tim Holtz Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy/East of India Heart Tag and Tunnel of Love Ticket/Decorative heart ribbon/Hat pins/Vintage buttons/Papermania 8x8 kraft cardblank x 2.

How I made this card.....

Use your two 8x8 card blanks to create an easel card.

Cover with the Teal and Gold Dots paper.

Stamp 'Love' from the stamp set onto the Floral and letter paper. Tear around the edges and ink them using the ink and a sponge, hand write Happy Valentine's Day along the bottom and add a vintage button. Attach to the top right corner with foam pads.

Attach a length of ribbon down the left hand side of the card blank, looping back on itself to create three loops. Stick in the hat pins as shown. Add the East of India heart tag and the greetings.

Along the base of the easel add a length of ribbon. Add the Tunnel of Love Ticket using foam pads to create your easel stopper.Stick ribbon next to this, looping as before.

To finish glue some vintage buttons randomly in the left hand corner of the base.

I am going to give my husband this card for Valentine's Day...I like it as its a change from the usual Valentine's Day colour's of red.

I look forward to seeing your 'Love' Creations over at the Glitter Geeks this week,
have fun and happy crafting,

Polkadoodles Challenge...DT Card....'Loving' this theme......

Happy Friday my lovelies. I am so excited to show you all my very first Design Team card for Polkadoodles!

I did wonder if I had dreamt that I had made the Polkadoodles Design Team....it's my dream come true!

So on with the challenge, as love is in the air we have a great challenge starting today...
'A Quick & Simple Valentines Card with Free Digi'

To make my card I have used the Polkadoodles Sugar Birdie CD

I folded the front of the card blank in half as shown. Covered the card with co-ordinating backing paper from the cd. I used a strip on the front panel and made loops as I attached it.
I cut the image of the birdhouse to fit inside the card. Attached birds, lovehearts and a flower to  a Nellie die cut frame, I inked the frame with a Letraset Promarker Pen. I attached  elasticated gingham ribbon
around the frame and used foam pads to stick it to the card.
To finish I handwrote the greeting and embellished with PD Clear Dew Drops

This card was very quick to make. I would love to see your creations for this challenge, take a look at what the rest of the Polkadoodles Design Team have been making here..

Hop over and grab the digi as you need to use it for this theme....have fun and get feeling the love! LOL

A warm hello from me lol..........

Hello my lovely beautiful crafter's.

I hope you are all keeping well and warm in this cold weather!

I have been crafting some Design Team work for a few hours today and yesterday. I can't show you it yet as it's for future blog challenges. While I am off work for so long I am trying to work in advance. Any excuse to craft lol, as you all know I would spend every waking hour crafting if I got the chance!

I am feeling quite tired while I'm recovering from my operation. I have to keep remembering that it isnt quite 3 weeks yet since I had it, and me being impatient, I want to be fully recovered and back to normal yesterday! LOL

Anyhoo, when I'm tired I've been resting and reading my kindle, but also reading my craft magazines too. I have a lot of magazines to catch up on.
I absolutely love notebooks too, and have many on the go. I'm addicted to lists, I have lists for lists......my husband laughs at how many I have. I just love writing things down though. I have a project book for each Design Team that I'm on. I have a diary for my day to day life...a diary for my DT work.......and a diary just for the sake of having another pretty diary! My favourite book that I have though is my A4 Boofle Project Book....I have sketchings in this, wish lists of crafty goodies I want to buy, interview questions that I ask people for my features 'My favourite blog of the month' and 'My favourite crafty friend of the month'. I write all my ideas down in here, it literally is like my bible of crafting. I would be lost without it. When it is full, I have my eye on the next replacement project book....you see...organised again lol.

Also, another thing I have been doing in the last week is making ribbon bows. I have absolutely loads of ribbon that I collect, I love ribbons. I have so many ribbons that I could supply the retailers lol. Parting with them though is another thing heehehehe so many pretty ones! Anyway, I decided to sit for a couple of hours and make ribbon bows.....so I now have a tin full of them. These will be great to have an instant bow when I'm crafting. I have used loads of different colours too so there will always be a bow to match whatever project I might need one for. If you want to know how to make a neat bow, look at my tutorial section.........'NJ's Crafty Tips'. I have a section devoted entirely to ribbons and different ways of using them.

I have also been making paper flowers too, which will be very handy. Although I did get in a little bit of a mess while gluing them, its not wise to try and  type at the same time as gluing!

Another thing I have been doing too is printing loads of gorgeous backing papers and elements from some gorgeous crafting cd's. I will show you these soon with some cards I want to make from the cds I have printed off.

Now you might see why I've been getting told off from my hubby for not resting when I am supposed to.....I like to do things......I'm not one for doing nothing...but I am being a good girl......yeah yeah I know if your reading this and you know me you'll be laughing...I am a good girl really and do as I'm told...(well only sometimes lol).

So, I know I have waffled on a bit, but I just wanted to have a lovely catch  up with you all. Keep up the good work with all your crafting, have fun enjoy the gorgeous crafty colours, nice and bright and cheerful......and enjoy your crafting and have fun.....

till next time.....
from little ole me.....lol.............
lots of love to you all.........................

I made two cards using Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff CD......

A very happy Sunday evening from me. I hope that you've all had a lovely week-end.

Well this morning I made two cards using the

The first card I have made is actually a birthday card for my teenage nephew.

I have used Flynn as he's listening to his i-pod which I think most teenagers seem to do!

I matted co-ordinating backing paper. Cut out the fence and added Flynn to make it look like he is sitting on it. I have inked around the greetings using
on the green greeting and used
on the brown greeting.

I cut two short strips of the spotted paper to make loops for the greetings and attached with foam pads.
To finish I have used Card Candi I love using these.

The second card I have made I used Cory. When I saw him I knew exactly what I wanted to make, he is so adorable.

As soon as I saw the door too it made me think about being little and visiting grandparents. So this is what I would like to call this card
'Visiting Grandad'.
I love the fact that Cory is stood waiting for his Grandad to answer the door with his teddy and his backpack.

I covered the A5 cardblank with spotted paper and inked the edges of this and the greetings with Letraset Promarker Burnt Orange

I have used Tim Holtz Distress Ink brushed corduroy to ink round the edges of the cut out door, the back pack and Cory. I have also inked slightly over Cory's jeans and his backpack as I wanted it to resemble mud to make it look like he had been playing in mud on his way to visit Grandad lol.

Finally I have finished the card with Card Candi .

I love the Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff CD there are so many elements on this to use for any occasion and for any male of any age. You could even change this card to make it for Grandma, just change the greeting!

I hope you have enjoyed reading how I made these cards, thanks for looking.
Have fun and happy crafting,
Lots of love
