DT Card for Crafty Bloggers Network......Challenge 14

Hello my lovelies,
I hope you have all had a lovely week-end.

Well today sees the start of another fab challenge over at the

The theme for Challenge 14 is....

Shabby Chic!

Here's what I made for my design team card....

Here's what I used to make this card...

Papermania 8x8 card blank/Forever Friends Pink Parfait A4 paper pack/Papermania Summer Bloom Sweetie Brad/Vintage Sheer Flower Ribbon/ Pearl strand/ Lace/Doily/Flowers/Fabric brad/Feather/Pearly stem flowers/Ribbon bow/Tim Holtz Distress Ink Worn Lipstick/Dew Drop Brilliance Pigment Ink Pearlescent purple/Cosmic shimmer Cosmic Twinkles in Iced Candy/Self adhesive pearls/ Kanban greeting.

Here's how I made it...

Cover the card blank with a sheet of paper from the pad with the bear wearing the hat on it. Make sure its sat at the bottom right corner.
Cover the left side of the card with a co-ordinating piece of paper.
Use a distressing tool or nail file to scratch around the edges to give them a shabby look, ink around the edges with worn lipstick.
Attach the sheer ribbon, pearl strand, and lace so one sits on top of the other, securing the ends of each on the underside of the front with double sided tape.
Use a sponge to ink the doily using both your inks randomly. Also ink the flowers and the fabric brad too. Attach all of these to the top right corner with the brad.
Cut out another bear from the paper pack and attach on top of the other one with foam pads.
Stick the feather and the pearly stem flowers to the underside of the hat. Stick a hat pin through the flower on the hat and add cosmic twinkles to the flower. Glue a ribbon bow to the side as shown.
Add the decorative brad to the bottom left corner.
Stick three hat pins into the doily and flowers as shown.
Add the pearls as shown around the edges of the card and finally ink the edges of your greeting with worn lipstick and attach to the card with foam pads.

CBN DT Challenge 10 - Distressing

Hello everyone

Challenge 10 Distressing

I covered the card blank with decorative paper and distressed the edges with a nail file and distress ink. I scrunched up a doily and dabbed distress ink over it then stuck to the top left corner along with some feathers. I used a background stamp with distress ink and stamped over a plain flower. Attached to the card and in the middle I have glued dried flowers.
The birdcage, bird and greeting are all from a Kanban kit I had. I scrunched them all up and then attached to the card, making sure I put some feathers behind the bird.

Design Team Project for Crafty Bloggers Network - Christmas Gift

Every year I always make my hubby a calendar. So I thought this was the perfect project to use for my Design Team project this week.
The calendar is by Papermania and it is 12x12.

I have used photos of us both from the last couple of months.

My hubby always looks forward to this every year. Over the years I varied the theme. Some of the themes I made in the past have been Dolphins, our late dog..she was a golden labrador and everything to us...that was a favourite year for his calendar!
Holidays, golf and fishing. The great thing with making a calendar as a Christmas gift, is you can make it really individual to suit the recepient. I also mark in the dates for my hubby too....particularly handy  for when it's my birthday month...he cant forget then can he! LOL

So, without further ado...here it is.......I hope you like it......

The paper pad I used for the calendar is DCWV The Once upon A Time Stack.
The great thing about this is not only is it gorgeous but it is also glittered on some sheets too, which is great for saving time on embellishing. I wanted to keep the theme masculine but with some embellishment so I have used Craftwork Candi.

I hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it, thanks for looking and if you fancy entering the challenge...here's where it's at....

My DT Project for Crafty Blogger's Network..Anything 3D..

A happy good evening from me my lovelies. Well, I'm going to say oooopps, because I meant to show you my Design Team Creation for this week's challenge over at Crafty Blogger's Network on Monday! I ran out of time though....this time of year is my busiest time at the salon everyone wanting cuts & colours etc. Like most people, I have 101 jobs to do lol, but not enough hours in the day to do them all! Anyhoo...here is what I created for the theme this week....'Something 3D'.......

Cupcake

I made a cupcake wrapper from a template, drawing onto the back of decorative paper. I coloured a polystyrene ball with promarkers and then sat it into the wrapper. I wound lace around starting from the top of the wrapper, using a different colour for each section until I reached the top. I finished with organza ribbon on the top and embellished with Tatty Ted die cut, stickles and pearl headed stick pins, flowers, beaded garland and feathers.
The good thing about this cupcake is...it's pretty to look at and calorie free!LOL

You still have time to join the challenge, I would love to see your creation's, here's where it's at....

Hope you like it and thanks for looking,
have fun and happy crafting,

My Design Team Card for Crafty Bloggers Network

Well where do the weeks fly to. Monday comes round pretty quick, which means its time for another challenge over at the Crafty Blogger's Network.

This weeks theme is a Sketch to follow. Interpret the sketch as you wish, you can rotate it, make the stars a circle or flowers. So many options you can play with. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Here's what I did................

I used an 8x8 kraft blank. I decided to use the Digital Designer Forever Friends Retro Collection Christmas for this card.

Ink edges of the card and lay with the fold at the top. Cut four squares of different patterned backing papers to 9cm x 9cm each and ink edges. Stick to base.

Print out a border and trim to the length to 19cm ink edges and stick across the middle joins of squares.

Cut green mirri card to 15cm x 15cm and stick in centre of papers.
Cut red mirri card to 13cm x 13cm and attach with foam pads.

Use stickles glitter glue to add faux stitches along edges.

Print your chosen embellishments and greetings and cut out.

I have chosen bunting and a topper to make the main star from the sketch. The other three stars I've chosen two embellishments of holly and then a robin. Ink all edges with a whispers pen.

Finally attach each piece to red card as shown. Add swirls using the stickles.

I like using sketches, they are great also to use for scrapbook pages as well as cards.

Hope you enjoyed reading how I made my card and I hope to see you all on the next challenge.

Have fun and happy crafting,
lots of love NJ XXX

My DT Card for Crafty Blogger's Network Challenge 2 - Pink, Purple & Green

Hello my crafting friends, well we had a great response to our challenge last week. So, the 2nd Challenge theme is ....Pink, Purple & Green.

Here is my DT card for this week........

I printed the Tatty Ted image from the Do Crafts Digital designer Especially for you discs.
I coloured the image in using Whispers pens.....I wanted to give Tatty Ted a makeover so the look is now pink, purple and green lol.
I made an easel card, using an A5 card blank landscape. I covered in pink paper, then inked the edges. Attached candi along the edges and cut an oval from decorative paper using the X cut shape cutter system. I also used the smaller oval to cut out the image.
Ink the edges, attach to the card with foam pads and embellish with a flower and ribbons.
I have hand written Happy Birthday on the easel stopper, but the twist is the first letter of each word are pink scrabble tiles!
To finish I have embellished with flowers.

Hope you like my DT card this week.

Please join in the challenge, we would love to see all your creations.
Here's where we are........just add your entry to Mr Linky!

Crafty Blogger's Network Challenge - Keep It Simple

I'm happy to share with you all that the
Crafty Blogger's Network Challenge blog
has gone live from today!
Woo hoo exciting projects ahead, so please do follow us and see what we are up to on the Design Team
For the first challenge the theme is:

Keep It Simple

So, as it's Halloween, what better way to wish you all a 'Happy Halloween' than making my Design Team Card with that in mind. Here it is......

I have used an A5 cardblank turned landscape. I downloaded the free Halloween digi stamps and greetings from the Do Craft's Creativity Club. These are available if you are a member. I have covered the card with black glitter felt. The pumpkin is coloured using polychromo pencils. I have left stripe contours visible as I wanted it to look like the lines on a pumpkin. I have used a piece of orange fringed ribbon along the bottom, added 2 buttons to the eyes and finished with a greeting and bubble gems.

I'm so excited, this is my very first Design Team card. I have lots of ideas to share with you all, along with my other fellow Design Team members.
Come along, join in and most of all have fun,

Happy Crafting,
love NJ XXX
